Inanna (plaster sculpture) and Learning to Fly (video loop)
Transatlantic (Liquid Graphite drawings on Duralar)
This video was part of a larger installation entitled "Vanishing Point". In this video piece, I explore flight as a common human aspiration through three 90 second freefall experiences, portrayed here at different speeds, in combination with a sound sculpture titled "In Between". In Between was created by interweaving air space sounds from various urban and rural environments across North America and Europe.
Vanishing Point:
Mixed Media Installation with Skydiving Footage and Sound, Including individual pieces, Inanna, Learning to Fly and Transatlantic
Dimensions Variable
Inanna is a mythical version of the artist cast in plaster on a trapeze. Learning to fly, is video footage of three 90-second free falls, looped and edited in slow motion. Transatlantic is a drawing series that examines architectural and air-spaces between the east coast and Europe. Each drawing is roughly 3'x 6' and hung to allow the viewer access between the images.
